LIFE EXAMPLES SPEAK TO MEI was about to have my bath today and I saw a spider trapped in my bath-tub. I don’t know how it got there but I spent quite a lot of time looking at it struggle to get out. It was a spider of medium size with strong 8 legs. I steered in amazement as it used its hind feet to push itself up the slippery surface of the bath-tub. Sometimes, it made it half way to the top then on every occasion it slid back down to the bottom of the tub. In its frustration, it would changed sides to try another surface and the same occurrence took place. Again and again it continued until it was tired. It would rest for a while and then it would attempt again to make it out.
I just couldn’t help but stare at the creature. I said to myself, “if only it could ask me for help for I could in an instant get it out of the tub.” If it could, I would have easily given it leverage and got it out of the tub. But it couldn’t and I just continued to watch it.
Then the Holy Spirit ministered to me saying that, “this spider can be likened to many individuals out there trying to make it on their own. Trying to achieve a difficult task on their own without asking for help from God.” They therefore get worn out and don’t make rapid progress always ending up where they started from. They try other methods to achieve the same goal but like the other, the same end is achieved.
It was an important lesson learnt that day.
The lesson, was to ask God fo His help on every task I desire to accomplish and for His help and strength in getting out of trouble both from those I put myself in and from challenges brought my way. Which ever it is, God can in an instant set you free.
