Bible text: Matthew 16:20-24
In the last post, by God's wisdom, I spoke about several times of weaknesses citing examples but today, I will be writing about another time of weakness which is when we are about to or intend to make a life changing decision.
As humans, we make countless decisions daily. From the time we get up from bed to the time we return back to it. We decide what to wear, eat, drink or maybe to drive or take the bus and so on. Based on this fact, we are most vulnerable in times of decision and the devil or enemy can exploit this time or weakness with an intention to cause us to derail to our destruction.
He sometimes does this by influencing our thoughts or speaking through a familiar individual like in our bible text.
We make numerous decisions daily but there are specific times when we make life changing ones. An example could be when one decides to date, court or marry an individual. This is a life changing decision because nobody enters and sadly leaves a relationship the same. Most leave with an emotional, physical or mental scar. Some leave feeling cheated, while some unknowingly have engaged with a curse. Some mostly the divorced leave with a heart filled with anger and hatred towards their ex-spouse and unless God intervenes to soothe them, they will go to hell having not forgiven and reconciledMatthew 5:20-24. In such a case, the devil has been victorious.
For many of us today, finding the right partner to be with in a realtionship is difficult. Overcoming this relationship complexness requires prayer to attract right candidates your way and to recognise them when you see them (Gensis 24:12-17). Unfortunately, since many of us don't rely on prayer to find the right partner, the devil brings his nominee our way and we jump at it. This wrong action has led to the destruction of homes, families, communities and even nations.
The devil also uses the media to build a false persona of who the perfect partner is. All the gossip magazines and other information vehicles suggest a guy with 6 packs and a girl with big boobs or slim physique. Such talk have made many carry out breast implants and other plastic surgery operations which are not right in God's sight. Are you saying God make a mistake in the way in created you?
Have you notice that societal role models, celebrities don't have stable relationships?
But today, I offer you Jesus and the gospel that will help you make outstandingly fine judgement and decisions.
Accept Jesus today by saying the prayer below.
Prayer point: Lord help me know you more. Forgive my sins and help me make right decisions everytime in Jesus name. Amen. |
