Though the start of a new year is a time of celebration, we must not forget or neglect the opportunity God has given you and I to make heaven. For to some, a new year is God giving you more time to make amendments to your sinful, ignorant or faithless lifestyle. It is also a time of inner reflection and evaluation of your service and attitude towards God and to honestly score yourself. Therefore, based on your honest judgement, make resolutions to gain a better relationship with God. For many, this will be the last year they have to repent, win souls through evangelism and to prove their love for God. I say this, not to scare anyone but to remind you that some of earth's inhabitants didn't make it to 2009 and died as sinners with their names not being in the Book of Life (Rev 20:12-15). Therefore, please do not neglect the times we live in similar to that described by Jesus in John 4:23-24 which says, " But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth."
Please, let God find you worthy as He searches unlike Jesse's son Eliab who was unworthy and rejected by God (1 Samuel 16:6-7.)

Prayer point: God, Father of all creation. I desire a better relationship with you this year. Give me the grace to draw close to thee. Remove any iniquity, weakness or curse that draws me further away from You. Thank you, Lord for answering my prayers in Jesus name. Amen
